A severe assault in Swords led to the arrest of a man.
Following an altercation in a car in Swords on Thursday night, a 20-year-old Dublin man has appeared before Dublin District Court charged with assault inflicting serious harm to another man.
Brandon Gavin, of Brookdale Road in Swords, was remanded in custody with the option of being released on bail as long as he reported to the Swords garda station three times each week, keep in touch with the gardaí, and avoid making contact with the victim.
In Beaumont Hospital, the victim, who is 19 years old, is still in critical condition.
Furthermore required is a €50,000 independent surety from the accused.
On March 1, he will make another court appearance.
The injured individual in this case, who had a neck wound, was said to be in critical condition, according to Judge Bryan Smyth.
