Irish man shot and killed in Australia

In Australia’s New South Wales, a man from Ireland was shot and killed.
At 8am local time, police from Oberon, roughly two hours drive from Sydney, were dispatched to a residence in the Central Tablelands where they found the man’s body with a gunshot wound.
Paramedics attended to him, but he passed away shortly afterward.
Although, the man has not yet been officially identified, it is thought that he was in his 30s and was originally from Sligo.
At the residence, a 57-year-old male was detained and brought to the Oberon Police Station to assist with the investigation.
A firearm has been taken for further investigation and the area has been cordoned off.
Initial investigations imply that the two individuals knew one another.
While offering consular support, the Department of Foreign Affairs has stated that it is unable to comment on the specifics of individual case.
