Congratulations are in order for RTE’s Emer O’Neill as she announced she is pregnant with baby number three.
The host of Keep It Up took to Instagram to share the happy news with followers, with many delighted for the broadcaster.
Emer and her husband Sean O’Neill are already parents to son Ky and daughter Sunny Rae.
Sharing a sweet snap of her growing bump, Emer wrote; ‘Baby ONeill #3 coming this September.’
Fans and famous friends of the star were quick to share their love at the good news, with Erica Cody writing; ‘Delighted for you!’
‘Awhhh congratulations, wonderful news xx,’ the style fair, Naoimi Clarke added, while another fan shared the sentiment, commenting; ‘Delighted sonny is going to be a big sister.’
Emer’s pregnancy news comes after she opened up about parenthood and her own mother’s struggle as a single parent.
Ireland is familiar with Emer O’Neill’s story, having to face racism in her own hometown of Bray and wanting to shield her children from the trauma she endured as a child.
Growing up in 1980s Ireland, both she and her mother Phyl were subject to discrimination; Emer for being mixed-race and her mother for being a single parent of a mixed-race child.
Despite the hardship both came out fighting, with the basketball coach praising Phyl for her strength.
She was a single parent from the onset; she was faced with pregnancy at a time where she wasn’t stable in her life as far as financially or having a home, having a full-time job position,’ Emer told extra.ie.
‘For her to be able to buy a house, get a full-time job as a nurse, and be able to support us all the way through… She made sure I had every opportunity that everybody else had, even as a single parent.’
