Sliabh Liag continues to be inaccessible for the third consecutive day after an alleged attack.

Sliabh Liag in south Donegal has been shut off to the public for the third consecutive day as gardaí investigate a reported severe assault that occurred in the vicinity during the weekend.

Last night, both a man and a woman who were apprehended in relation to the incident were released without any charges being filed against them.

Gardaí are urging individuals who witnessed any unusual occurrences in the Killybegs, Cill Charthaigh, or Sliabh Liag regions between the afternoon of Saturday, June 24, and Sunday night, June 25, to get in touch with them.

Gardaí are reportedly searching for the alleged assault victim, although they have not officially confirmed it as a case of a missing person. The ongoing operation at Sliabh Liag today exclusively involves the gardaí.

The Coast Guard units, which had been aiding in the search efforts of the area since Monday morning, were called off yesterday evening.
